Yes, T-Smart creates its own frequency which can be connected to within a short distance of the unit.
T-Smart is a 16amp Plug in Thermostat which cannot be controlled by an external relay, due to this we recommend no more than a 3kW Immersion Heater is controlled via T-Smart.
Yes, if you are connecting to units via WiFi then you can connect to an unlimited number of units at any time. We would recommend naming each unit at the time of installation for easy identification.
Yes, multiple devices can be connected to a single T-Smart however they are unable to connect and control at the same time, the device connected first will have priority over other users.
Yes, T-Smart will remember your last changes made and operate under this function until changed. It does however take T-Smart approx. one minute to store the information, if for any reason power is lost to the T-Smart within one minute of making a change this may not be stored at that time and may require the mode selecting again.
Access to the T-Smart can only be gained if you are connected to the local WiFi which the unit is connected to. Once connected the only way to delete unwanted devises would be to change WiFi settings such as the password or router name and reconnecting only the approved devices.
Yes, T-Smart is approved as an ERP Smart device and carries CE Certification.
Yes, your T-Smart is connected to the clock within the smart device which controls it, as this changes so will your T-Smart?
T-Smart has been designed as a horizontal plug in thermostat which will retrofit into almost all UK Unvented Cylinders. For bespoke items please contact our offices where we will advise on the compatibility of T-Smart in your current cylinder.
Being a digital Thermostat T-Smart is one of the most accurate available on the market with tolerances of just ± 2°C.
T-Smart requires power to the Thermostat to be able to control the Immersion Heater to which it is attached, as long as you have power to the Thermostat both the anti-legionella and freeze protection cycles will remain functional.
Yes, depending on which mode you chose in the app the energy efficiency of your immersion heater will change. With Manual, Travel and Timer you can control your efficient yourself by selecting the right heat profile for your usage, In Eco and Smart modes T-Smart will automatically run at the most energy efficient settings. T-Smart is an approved ERP Smart device which is tested to prove energy savings.
Yes, in most modes you can change the stored temperature, on off times and holiday settings manually. If you are using the smart mode then you can simply reset this by selecting a different mode and then reverting back to smart mode. Please allow one minute between each mode swap to ensure the T-Smart has updated internally.
Yes, the manual reset button can be located on the head of the main thermostat, this is found under the lower cap section of T-Smart.
A built-in function, operating in the background. For additional safety, advanced software is constantly monitoring the water temperature. If the heater does not reach 60 °C for 15 days in a row, the Anti-Legionella cycle will be launched automatically and the water is heated to 60 °C for 30 minutes. This process will remove all potentially harmful bacteria from the water.
The timer function of T-Smart is controlled via the mobile app. Timer functions can only be set when directly connected via either the local WiFi (i.e. within the WiFi range) or within the T-Smarts own frequency. If you are away from home and want to stop your immersion heating the water you can select holiday mode on T-Smart which will override the timer function.
No, T-Smart connects the same as your standard immersion and is powered when linked through your Immersion Heater.
Yes, please refer to model TIHTS650.
The TIHTS upgrade/retrofit kit cannot be used.
Not yet. Currently in development.
Unfortunately not. The standard 27” immersion heaters have a standard thermostat with link wire. It needs to be of the plugin type (2 prongs/spade connectors). This is why we supply the unit complete with the smart technology and heating element.
Yes, you can but please make sure you choose the correct model (TIHTS650) for vertical installation.
Although we always recommend getting a qualified engineer, you are able to fit it yourself as long as you are competent.
Yes, you have 2 options:
The only thing to be aware of here is that your existing controller only allows 1 immersion heater to be used at a time so the electric circuit will probably be designed for a load of 3kW, you may have to beef up the circuit to allow for the fact that both heaters can be on at the same time with a total load of 6kW, or else put a separate 3kW circuit in for each heater.
